DECEMBER 2007 Danny is 40 years old and lives in apartment in Pottsville. He describes himself as friendly, he wears a small fashion earring, and a heart tattoo on his forearm. Wherever there is karaoke, Danny can be found singing "Leaving on a Jet Plane" or "Take Me Home Country Road."
This past year was especially difficult for Danny because his girlfriend of many years passed away in January. He talks about her a lot and realizes this will be the first Christmas without her.
In the summer, Danny learned his younger brother was ill and in need of a bone marrow transplant from someone who was a blood/stem cell match. When Danny and two other brothers were tested, it was discovered Danny was the only match.
Without hesitation, Danny agreed to do whatever he could to help his brother. See, Danny is a family man. Although he prefers living alone, he frequently visits with his mother in Shenandoah. He often talks about his brothers and their wives.
Once all the necessary medical tests were complete, Danny and his mother flew to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. There, the medical procedures were complete. It was an all-day procedure and according to Danny "it hurt a little bit" but he wasn't scared.
The healing process for his brother continues, with improved odds thanks to his big brother. The entire family is proud of Danny. The ReDCo Group is proud of Danny!
A few weeks ago Danny was surprised by a celebration party in his honor. His family, along with staff, attended the surprise party at his apartment. There was pizza, and cake and ice cream for dessert. Danny was also given a special gift that day a bike, which he rides around town. Sometimes he rides to Avenues where he works. Danny has an unforgettable smile. He is a good person and a real hero.
