FEBRUARY 2008 — The New Vision Clubhouse Members are the ReDCo Group BHS Pocono Region heroes. These individuals continuously strive and are "resilience manifest." Their courage to persevere to become a group, in spite of their differences, and provide encouragement and kindness to one another, celebrating their gains and comforting one another's losses in spite of their own needs, creates an atmosphere of wonder. Of all the models the ReDCo Group provides, clubhouse and psychiatric rehabilitation (including job coaching and transitional employment) have captured the essence of recovery and resilience. If not for the members, staff, advisory board members, outpatient staff, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, employers, and the Department of Aging to name a few, the success of this program wouldn't have occurred. In spite of the multitude of demands placed on this fledgling program, everyone has stretched themselves to accommodate all of the adjustments needed to succeed. A few founding members still involved from the planning stages over five years ago are active Advisory Board members and leaders in the daily operations of New Vision. Two of these founding members have gained successful employment in a variety of settings and have offered to be part of the local consumer and family satisfaction teams. One of the founding members has gone on to obtain her Certified Peer Specialist Certificate and recently obtained employment to provide support to others suffering with mental illness in their own path of recovery.

Many members have been actively involved in New Vision Clubhouse for years. On a daily basis, these individuals creatively find ways to get to the program when the local transportation system is unavailable. They feed one another great food, comfort, and most of all HOPE.

It is our honor to serve these individuals. The ReDCo Group appreciates New Vision Clubhouse members and all of the agencies and individuals who make it succeed.
