Persons with Disabilities
Persons with Disabilities
Three distinct services are provided by Raystown Developmental Services for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Residential
  • Adult Training Facility
  • Home & Community Habilitation
Residential
Nine community homes are operated by Raystown Developmental Services to assist individuals with special needs to maximize choice, independence, and opportunities for socialization. Choice making and the principals of self determination are incorporated into planning and every aspect of daily living. The home environments are comfortable and tailored to meet the needs of each individual.
Families are encouraged to continue to be a part of their family member's life. Staff members will work to achieve goals in daily living such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Individuals are encouraged to actively participate in community events. Supervision is available at all locations to provide the necessary oversight of both employees and residents. Raystown Developmental Services builds success with our workers, our residents, and our organization.
The ReDCo Group acquired Raystown Developmental Services (RDS) in January of 2007. RDS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the ReDCo Group.
Adult Training Facility
ReDCo's Adult Training Facilities promote employability for all individuals regardless of one's capabilities. A detailed assessment of each consumer will identify and capitalize on individual strengths rather than limitations. Obtaining employment is the primary goal and is pursued through personal and community development. All training programs are functional using training stations designed to mirror community opportunities.
Community involvement is also a program goal. Training activities are designed to facilitate community integration. Training activities are provided in a relaxed yet stimulating environment.
Home & Community Habilitation
Most often persons with a developmental disability reside with their family. Regardless of an individual's living situation, all benefit by habilitative activities and community integration.
The ReDCo Group staff assist families by providing services determined to be most appropriate for the individual. Services range from instruction in daily living tasks to planned recreational events. The goal is to enhance the quality of life for the participant as well as providing support to the family.
